Overview
VanMar Constructors is seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of our mid-rise and high-rise residential construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating project documentation, procurement, scheduling, and communication throughout all phases of construction.
The Senior Project Coordinator works closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to VanMar's high standards of quality. This role is ideal for a proactive construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of residential construction processes, trade sequencing, and project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in all aspects of project coordination from pre-construction through project closeout.
- Coordinate and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, procurement logs, change orders, contracts, and project correspondence.
- Assist in planning and coordinating site activities, project meetings, and the distribution of meeting minutes and action items.
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to support project planning and execution.
- Coordinate tendering activities and ensure subcontractors and suppliers receive complete information for accurate pricing.
- Track procurement schedules, material deliveries, and project milestones to support construction schedules.
- Assist with project scheduling, monitor progress, and identify potential schedule impacts.
- Support Site Superintendents and Project Managers by resolving day-to-day project coordination issues.
- Assist with cost tracking, change management, and budget monitoring.
- Coordinate occupancy requirements and project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, maintenance manuals, and turnover packages.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Ensure compliance with VanMar policies, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably within mid-rise and high-rise residential construction.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Senior Project Coordinator.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, trade sequencing, construction methodologies, and contract administration.
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Site experience is considered an asset.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
Pay: $65,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
