The Product Manager, Road Construction is responsible for the sales of new and used equipment in the paving, compaction, milling, & crushing market segments.
Collaborate to establish and formulate short and long term marketing/advertising/sales strategies, objectives and performance goals.
Fosters a success-orientated and accountable environment.
Responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day sales activities for the Compaction, Milling, & Crushing market segments; aligning with the objectives and directives of the Company.
Identify specific market growth opportunities, market threats, and challenges. Provide proactive recommendations for the market segment based on anticipated developments.
Actively calls on key accounts and assists sales force where appropriate.
Assists in sales presentations and quotations, and provides recommendations for change if necessary.
Ensures implementation of corporate initiatives, policies and procedures, and business processes by proper communication, education and training.
Develops, and maintains relationships with prospective buyers and users to stimulate and control demand and terms of sale for products and services.
Directs the flow of information for sales activities and transactions and evaluates data to ensure sales goals are met.
Monitors and analyzes competitive activities.
Acts as the key liaison to road machinery manufacturers.
Assists in other activities as determined by the Product Manager - Road, Forestry and Light Construction that provide value to SMS and our customer base.
The successful candidate with have previous experience in a Sales role specifically in the Construction industry along with excellent product knowledge of the road building product line. Additional qualifications include:
Excellent knowledge of the industry and prospective customers’ businesses
Ability to motivate others and hold people accountable
Must possess good oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficient computer skills using programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Ability to provide solutions when called upon as a subject matter expert.
