As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to support our finance function and help us scale responsibly.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Part-Time Accounting Manager to manage our day-to-day accounting operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data while supporting our CFO with timely financial reporting and insights to aid strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:
· Accounting Operations: Manage and oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger; facilitation of the monthly transactions such as Leases, PP&E, Payables, Prepaid & accruals, bank reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Prepare and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. Month end adjustments, HST reconciliation & payment (refund).
- Financial Reporting: Produce and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, for internal review and external reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS), tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist the CFO in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate financial data and variance analyses.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and financial data transparency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with other teams to provide financial insights, support expense tracking, and assist in resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA designation preferred or in progress.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within a startup or small business environment.
· Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Word; experience with SaaS financial tools is a plus. Typing speed average 60-75 words/minute with 100% accuracy, Able to perform general office duties including filing and faxing.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations and accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS) required.
- Attributes: Flexible and responsible in setting goals and following through with them, Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organization/prioritizing skills as well as good analytical/problem-solving skills and being able to adapt to new standards quickly
· Work Ethic: Able to work as a team player and independently with minimal supervision, as well as providing excellent customer service.
