Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Early Childhood Educator/Supervisor to lead and inspire young learners in a vibrant educational environment. This role combines hands-on classroom teaching with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for children. Duties
- Plan, organize, and deliver developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the needs of children with diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Review lesson plans, support curriculum development, and ensure activities promote children's physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Supervise classroom staff and volunteers, providing guidance, mentorship, and ongoing support to ensure high-quality care and education
- Maintain adherence to local childcare legislation and health and safety codes, such as the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). Prepare for licensing inspections.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes social-emotional growth, creativity, and curiosity
- Communicate with families regarding child progress or behavior, address concerns, and build community partnerships
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress reports, and incident documentation using computer systems
- Coordinate with special education professionals to support children with disabilities or additional needs through tailored strategies and accommodations
- Manage daily classroom operations efficiently while demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing
- 3 years+ experience in early childhood educator role
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Able to work in Canada
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and child development theories
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to engage children, families, and team members confidently
- Demonstrated leadership ability with previous supervisory or team management experience
- Proficient in computer operation, including classroom management software and basic office applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of teaching strategies for children with special education needs is an asset
- Ability to implement educational plans collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitude
