Horizon CPA is looking for a CPA student to join our rapidly growing practice!
At Horizon CPA, we combine professional expertise with a progressive, technology-driven approach to accounting. We serve a wide range of clients — including family farms, oilfield contractors and service companies, small to mid-sized owner-managed businesses, trades and contracting firms, retail, startups and businesses seeking advisory, succession, or exit planning, all of this through our online and technology-based platform.
This position will be tailed to fit the right candidate, such that they have the qualifications and personal skills necessary to collaborate with our team and complete tasks as required. Horizon offers meaningful opportunities to develop practical skills, gain tax and assurance exposure, and work directly with clients while being supported by an experienced, collaborative team.
Our head office is in Red Deer (Gasoline Alley) with satellite offices in Edmonton and Trochu.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping and payroll (Primarily QuickBooks Online)
- Notice to Reader (NTR) engagement / financial statement preparation
- T1 & T2 tax preparation
- CRA correspondence and filings
- Assist with client correspondence, growth, and retention
- Assist partners with general practice tasks
- Implement accounting software for clients
Competencies:
- Display motivated work ethic, problem solving, analytical and communication skills
- Value team atmosphere but also must be able to work independently
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple jobs simultaneously
Summary:
Compensation will directly correlate to skillsets and experience presented.
