We are currently seeking a Material Application Jr. Technician at our Brantford facility. This role assists with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the inventory system, provides production with an efficient uninterrupted flow of raw material while applying materials to shop orders.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately verify the starting stock for pending orders
- Issue, process and track internal conversion orders
- Assist the Supervisor and Technician in managing inter-plant transfers daily
- Assist the Supervisor is issuing and tracking purchase orders
- Assist the Supervisor in managing incoming Raw Material from suppliers
- Assist the Supervisor in tracking material inquiries
- Enter received material from steel mills; verify chemistry and certificates
- Update system price based in suppler price lists into Patriot Forge's ERP system
- Adjust open orders for changes to delivery dates, weights, piece quantity and other information
- Run month-end reports for accounting purposes
- Effectively use and apply raw material for orders in both plants
- Verify correct reductions and other application requirements per Patriot Forge process specifications and work instructions
- Assist in management of shorts inventory and ensure efficient allocation of same
- Assist the team in physical annual inventory counting
- Perform others tasks as assigned by management
- Back-up other department members when staff is away
Experience/Skills/Education:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering field preferred, or equivalent work experience in a custom manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy including MS Office applications
- Knowledge of QS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
- Knowledge and/or experience with forging, machining, steel making, or blueprint reading would be an asset
