Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT, TD&L and IBP, the Solution Architect will be responsible for architecting and designing solutions to meet specific new business demand and ensuring integrity of design through to implementation of the solution. The Solution Architect represents deep subject matter expertise in business process, solution design, best practices, and technologies supporting Nutrien’s technical and business environments.
What you will do:
Serve as primary business facing resource to collaborate on solutions required to meet business objectives
Oversee work and proposals to ensure alignment with the long term architectural vision and roadmap for Nutrien TD&L applications
Determine optimal approach to develop and deliver required functionality from financial, architectural and operational perspectives (i.e. build/buy new or COTS; configure/customize existing application, subscriptions)
Define functional requirements for application development efforts and validate proposed development estimates
Own the solution design and oversee development to ensure it meets business outcomes
Oversee and review test plans and outcomes to validate solution meets intent and is appropriate in response to business demand for change
Work with and provide direction throughout the design process to assure system solutions in the Nutrien TD&L area meet business requirements, achieve a high level of systems integration, maximize the reuse of components, and empower the rapid deployment of applications in response to business demand for change
What you will bring:
Minimum of eight years of practical experience in application solution design, and a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or related equivalent
Effective with creative solutioning and communication to influence and facilitate resolution of a business opportunity
Use influencing and negotiation skills when appropriate
Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, and facilitation skills
Ability to work independently or as a team with both technical and non-technical staff
Willingness to learn, teach and share information with teammates, peers, management and users
Able to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Heavy experience in functional solution design and delivery across the ERP development lifecycle
Experience in application development estimation and best practices in solution delivery
Experience with Transportation Management Systems is preferred
Experience working in any of the following SAP applications: S/4 HANA, ECC SD/LE, TM, SCM
