First Peoples Wellness Circle (FPWC) is an Indigenous-led national not-for-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of First Peoples in Canada by addressing healing, wellness, and mental wellness barriers. The organization’s purpose is to walk with and support First Peoples and communities to share collective intelligence for healing, peace-making, and living a good life. FPWC’s approach is centred on promoting wellness pathways based on traditional knowledge and culture that supports healing and wellness and fosters a two-eyed seeing approach. FPWC envisions a nation where our First Peoples experience wholistic health and wellness by championing diverse cultural values, beliefs, and practices.
FPWC’s new strategic plan encompasses four main objectives: Growth, The Framework, Relationships, and Collective Intelligence. Through these objectives, we seek to build relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations and build workforce capacity by sharing collective intelligence and implementing the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework. The FPWC works diligently to advocate for transformative change, aiming to create wellness and whole health pathways for Canada’s First Peoples shaped by diverse Indigenous cultural lenses and knowledge.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking two (2) qualified candidates for the position of Implementation Coach. This is a 21-month term, full-time (37.5 hours per week), fully remote position from July 2026 to March 2028. Our head office is located in North Bay, Ontario and individuals from Ontario will be given preference.
Under the direction and supervision of the Special Projects Program Manager, the Implementation Coach is responsible for providing implementation coaching to assigned Provincial and First Nation schools in Ontario. The Implementation Coach will offer coaching and support using established protocols, benchmarks, and expectations, grounded in strong collaborative relationships with parents and caregivers, school teams, mental health leaders, and Indigenous youth. Through this partnership‑based approach, the Implementation Coach will help schools implement practices that are healing-centered, culture based, culturally safe, and responsive to the strengths and needs of Indigenous students and their families.
Key Responsibilities
● Support participating schools in effectively implementing practices by offering guidance, capacity-building and ongoing support throughout the implementation process.
● Build collaborative relationships with families, school teams, mental health leaders, and Indigenous youth to guide implementation.
● Support schools in adopting healing-centered, culturally safe, and strengths-based practices.
● Facilitate capacity-building with educators and school staff through modeling, mentoring, and reflective practice.
● Promote culturally relevant approaches by engaging Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners.
● Contribute to safe, inclusive learning environments that honour Indigenous identities and ways of knowing.
● Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and refine learning content grounded in adult learning principles.
● Ensure high-quality implementation support through documentation, reporting, and participation in team learning.
● Uphold ethical, relational, and culturally respectful practices in all interactions.
● Participate in project consultations to analyze learning needs and customize training materials.
● Assist schools in developing action plans, monitoring progress, and adjusting strategies.
● Model healing-centered and culturally safe practices during coaching sessions.
● Facilitate reflective practice and mentoring conversations with educators.
● Engage Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners in implementation activities.
● Provide guidance on creating safe, inclusive learning environments for Indigenous students and families.
● Document coaching activities, progress, and outcomes according to reporting requirements.
● Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
● Provide advice on delivery modalities, instructional design, and resource development.
● Contribute to maintaining and improving the master content database, identifying key learning points and opportunities to enhance resource quality.

● Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
● Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
● High level of professionalism.
● Ability to work flexible hours and willing to travel.
● Knowledge or use of an Indigenous language and/or bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset.
● These positions are fully remote, work from home role
● Access to reliable internet, and private office space to work is required
Qualifications
● Post Secondary degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Indigenous Studies, or a related helping field.
● Two (2) or more years experience with implementation science and methodologies.
● Experience in school settings, community mental health and/or youth serving environments.
● Experience supporting staff or teams through coaching, mentoring, or capacity building
● Experience working in a First Nation community or with Indigenous groups.
● Experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders
