Job Summary
The Visitor Services Assistant supports tourism and community promotion by welcoming visitors, answering questions, and sharing information about attractions, events, and local businesses in the Municipality of Brighton as well as neighbouring municipalities. Working 25 hours per week, the Assistant helps ensure a friendly, informative, and accessible experience for residents and visitors at municipal facilities, events, and visitor touchpoints.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors in a courteous, professional manner and provide information about Brighton’s parks, waterfront, downtown, Presqu’ile Provincial Park area, events, and local services
- Answer in-person, and provide maps, brochures, and digital information to help visitors plan their stay
- Promote local businesses, attractions, trails, and community events, encouraging visitors to explore and shop local
- Maintain an organized, welcoming visitor information area, including restocking brochures, updating bulletin boards, and keeping the space tidy
- Collect simple visitor statistics (e.g., where visitors are from, how they heard about Brighton) and share feedback with staff to help improve tourism services
- Provide customer service in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and municipal customer service policies
- Support municipal events and tourism initiatives (e.g., event set‑up, information tables, community outreach) as needed, including some evenings and weekends
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a friendly, welcoming attitude when interacting with the public
- Knowledge of Brighton and area attractions, services, and community amenities,
- Comfortable answering questions, giving directions, and interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and follow instructions
- Bilingualism in French considered an asset
Hours of Work
- June 25 – September 7, 2026
- 25 hours/week; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays
- 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Sundays
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends

Pay: $18.83-$22.97 per hour
