Overview
VISW Electrical Solutions is hiring a 3rd and/ or 4th year apprentice electrician to join our Vancouver Island division.
This position is focused primarily on new construction multi-family residential projects, with two active sites currently underway in Victoria. Occasional commercial work may be required, but residential multi-family is the core scope of work.
We are looking for an apprentice who takes pride in their work, shows up consistently, and wants to continue developing their career with a growing electrical contractor.
Duties
- Assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in construction settings
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide installation and troubleshooting processes
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform wiring, conduit bending, and equipment assembly
- Install electrical components according to specifications, ensuring proper connections and secure mounting
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools to identify faults or defects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times
- Assist in the testing of electrical systems to verify proper operation before project completion
Qualifications
- Current enrollment or completion of a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Electrician program
- Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
- Own and is proficient with hand and power tools
- Knowledge of schematics, low voltage wiring, and basic electrical theory
- Experience working in construction environments with exposure to various job sites
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and follow detailed instructions
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulations in all work activities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in physically demanding environments
