Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with experience in TPN administration to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care settings, including hospital, nursing home, assisted living, or home care environments. This role involves providing specialized patient care with a focus on total parenteral nutrition (TPN), pain management, and case management. The RN will utilize their expertise in medical terminology, medication administration, and various electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner to deliver exceptional nursing services. Candidates with experience working with children, seniors, or patients with dementia are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care across diverse settings including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments.
- Administer medications accurately and safely, including TPN infusions and other IV therapies.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner for documentation and communication.
- Conduct patient assessments, including laboratory specimen collection such as phlebotomy when required.
- Educate patients and their families on medication management, nutrition plans, and disease processes like dementia or chronic conditions.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist in pain management strategies and case management activities tailored to patient needs.
- Support patients with special needs including pediatrics, senior care, or those requiring laboratory or medical office procedures.
Requirements
- Valid TPN training is a must.
- Current RN licensure with active state registration.
- Proven experience in hospital settings or acute care environments; experience in nursing homes, senior care, dementia care, or pediatrics is preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and laboratory procedures including phlebotomy.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple complex cases efficiently.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children and elderly patients is highly desirable.
