Stonetown Foods is looking for a dedicated and skilled 3rd Class Stationary Engineer / Refrigeration B Operator to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting essential mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our infrastructure running smoothly, supporting the overall efficiency of our operations. Duties
- Operate and monitor boiler systems, refrigeration units, HVAC equipment, and other mechanical systems to ensure continuous operation.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, compressors, and appliances.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs using plumbing, welding, or mechanical techniques as needed to restore system functionality.
- Maintain detailed logs of system performance, maintenance activities, and incident reports for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
- Assist with construction or renovation projects by understanding schematics and supporting installation or repair tasks.
- Respond promptly to system alarms or failures to minimize downtime and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- follow and promote standards related to GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, TSSA and ESA requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience operating boilers, refrigeration (Ammonia) systems, HVAC units, or related mechanical equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in plumbing, welding, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems.
- 2-3 years of experience in a related role within food manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Experience with construction projects or working with construction schematics is a plus.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, boiler operations, and refrigeration technology is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
