Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Provider to join our team at Overlander Mountain Lodge and Jasper East Cabins. In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our buildings, grounds, equipment, and outdoor spaces.
This is a seasonal position until November 1, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on operational needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, enjoys varied hands-on work, and takes pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-kept property.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, structures, fences, benches, and other property features using hand and power tools
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws
- Maintain lawns and landscaped areas through mowing, mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming, edging, and seasonal clean-up
- Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using appropriate hand and powered equipment
- Assist with landscaping projects, including laying sod, sowing grass, and planting flowers, shrubs, and other foliage
- Maintain irrigation systems, including monitoring water usage, winterizing systems, and completing seasonal start-up as required
- Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, planters, and other exterior property features
- Perform seasonal snow and ice removal, including shovelling walkways, driveways, and parking areas and applying salt or ice melt as required
- Gather and remove litter, debris, and other waste from property grounds
- Inspect, maintain, and complete minor repairs to tools and equipment
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, or other grounds-care products using appropriate equipment and following applicable safety procedures
- Maintain turf and landscaped areas to support proper drainage and healthy growth
- Identify maintenance concerns, hazards, or required repairs and communicate them to management
- Follow established workplace health and safety procedures when operating tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Assist with other general maintenance, groundskeeping, and property upkeep duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, construction, property maintenance, or a related role is preferred
- Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, landscaping equipment, and maintenance equipment
- Basic knowledge of building and property maintenance
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage assigned tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Experience operating tractors, snow-removal equipment, chainsaws, or similar equipment is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and staff
