Join the Open Canopy Tree Company team and take on a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be involved in every aspect of the job, from working aloft in a bucket truck or climbing for precision pruning and tree removals, to supporting efficient ground operations once aerial work is complete.
You'll regularly interact with homeowners, providing professional communication and representing our company with confidence and integrity on every job site. Beyond field work, you'll also play an important role in the business by preparing estimates and assisting with other administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Driving vehicles to and from site (Must possess valid drivers licence)
- Initial contact wth homeowner when arriving on site
- Site preparation upon arrival which will include staging equipment, unloading gear and fuelling saws
- Working in direct contact with ground or aerial crew via provided bluetooth headset communication
- Servicing of equipment including chainsaws, wood chipper, stump grinder (Mechanical background a big asset)
- Pruning trees to ISA standards
- Removal of trees in a safe and efficient manner using the provided rigging equipment if necessary
- Running ropes used in the safe and controlled lowering of limbs when working around property assets
- Ensuring the climber or bucket operator has access to anything needed throughout their working session
- End of job site clean up and gear pack up
- Shop and truck organization
- Ensuring equipment is in good working order, and notifying the manager of any issues
- Estimating for potential new clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Experience:
- Climbing: 1 year (required)
- Arborist: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- ISA Certification (preferred)
