Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/RVT to join our veterinary team. This role involves providing high-quality medical care to animals, supporting veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for animal health. This is a part-time position (with full time potential) committed to delivering exceptional veterinary services in a professional and caring environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples, perform diagnostic tests, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and provide post-operative care
- Educate pet owners on health care, medication administration, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of all procedures
- Support kennel duties including feeding, cleaning, and caring for hospitalized animals
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the treatment area and surgical suites
Experience
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or RVT is required
- Laboratory experience is highly desirable to efficiently perform diagnostic testing and sample analysis
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical practices, protocols, and safety procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
