The Environmental Services Aide (Housekeeping Aide) reports directly to the Environmental Services Manager and ensuring efficient and compliant environmental services, adhering to all relevant legislation, the Fixing Long Term Care Act, and Omni standards.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Environmental Services Manager to ensure that Environmental services are efficient and in full compliance with all applicable legislation, the Fixing Long Term Care Act and corresponding regulations, Omni standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures are followed and adhered to without exception.
- Clean and service dining rooms, kitchen, lounges, activity rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, reception areas, information stations, storage and other areas as directed.
- Complete floor and carpet care as assigned; dust furniture/equipment, clean walls, clean windows, disinfect equipment and supplies as assigned, clean bathing and shower facilities, sinks, toilets as assigned.
- Ensure the maintenance of a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. Establish and enforce the expectation that hazardous conditions and actions are promptly reported and corrected. Apply the principles and standards of Safety First, using consistency in the application of policies and procedures which have been developed to provide a safe work environment for all staff.
- Perform all assigned Environmental Services duties in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures.
Education
- Minimum grade ten education is required.
- Complete secondary school education is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of and respect for the rights of the long-term care resident and knowledge of the safe and effective use of cleaning and laundry supplies and equipment is an asset.
