This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
The Physiotherapist is accountable for provision of physiotherapy to appropriate clients referred for the service. The provision of services to the clients will include assessment; treatment and consultation/education related to assisting clients regain and/or maintain optimal levels of movement, activity and function. The Physiotherapist is an active member of the district rehabilitation team and interdisciplinary district and/or site based team(s) with participation in program planning, development, evaluation and community networking. The Physiotherapist is responsible for providing clinical education to physiotherapy students and in-services to members of the health care team in addition to providing educational opportunities to family and home support caregivers. Opportunities will be sought to promote health and prevent injury. This position requires travel to various locations and as such access to transportation is required.
Baccalaureate degree or equivalent (i.e., recognized diploma) n Physiotherapy required.
Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (NSCP) required.
Current membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) with active participation in professional activities preferred
Current and ongoing certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Physiotherapy experience and interest in clinical area (s) of practice may be required for specific positions.
Demonstrated initiative and interest in assuming professional responsibility to upgrade skills and knowledge and review current literature on an ongoing basis and participate in development of the profession in the community.
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
$31.6939 - $40.0220/hourly
