Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front Counter Server to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food industry environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking orders, handling transactions, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, cashiering, and customer relations while working in a lively restaurant setting.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change with basic math skills
- Prepare simple food items as needed, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of the front counter area, including sanitation of surfaces and utensils
- Assist with food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Manage order accuracy and communicate effectively with kitchen staff to fulfill customer requests
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast or similar cash handling tools
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a restaurant setting
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if needed
- Serve it Right and Food handlers Certificate are considered an assest.
