We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with various types of equipment, including farm machinery. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all machines operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including forklifts and farm machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Assemble and disassemble heavy machinery components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes after repairs are completed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and parts used.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or on job sites.
Skills
- Proficient in mechanical repair techniques with hands-on experience in heavy lifting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts and other heavy machinery safely.
