About the Opportunity
Dawson Wallace currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic General Foreman to join our team in Lethbridge, Alberta.
As General Foreman, you will report directly to the Project Superintendent. You will be a primary point of contact between the sub-trades and Supervision on site. The General Foreman will coordinate day to day tasks, assist in creating schedules for workers, oversee site safety, and quality and control
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating trades and manpower according to priorities and schedule
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities
- Mentoring, coaching and supervising field personnel
- Promoting safe work practices
- Timely scheduling, coordination and effective cost control, as they pertain to labor, equipment and materials on the project
- Ensure compliance with the client and company's procedures is met
- Support the Superintendent on-site throughout construction
- Regularly monitor health, safety and environment compliance of workers and sub-contractors
- Conduct site specific health, safety and environment orientations for all new site workers and visitors
- Prepare site safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
- Facilitate and participate in site inspections and implement corrective action as required
- Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports
- Assist with labour duties and site maintenance as required
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 5 years of direct experience as a General Foreman in the commercial and industrial construction industry. This experience in combination with a technical trade certification in a construction-related field is required.

The Requirements:
- Experience of 5+ years working as a General Foreman role on commercial, residential, light industrial projects
- Effective leadership, critical thinking, and ability to problem solve
- Knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS legislation
- Experience in supervising and organizing mid-large crew sizes
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
- Industry related trade certification /education.
- Ability to plan and manage a project schedule.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Good physical condition and stamina
- A strong attention to detail, proven problem resolution skills and superior interpersonal skills
