Chocolate Barr's Candies has been part of Stratford's downtown for over 22 years. We're a handcrafted chocolate and candy shop — we love what we do and we take it seriously. We're looking for a Store Lead who shares that same pride in their work, genuinely enjoys connecting with people, and is ready to be a trusted presence on our floor.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do at Chocolate Barr's Candies, and it's the first thing we're hiring for. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves making people feel welcome, brings experience from retail or hospitality, and is ready to grow into a leadership role in a shop they can be proud of.
This is a position built for growth. You'll be trained by people who know this shop inside and out, learning the role the right way before stepping into it fully. The goal is for you to become the trusted lead on our floor — someone who can open and close, hold keys, and support the team.
Day to day you'll be juggling a lot: customer service, stock, inventory, gift wrapping, keeping the store looking its best. We need someone who stays organized when it gets busy, can shift gears without missing a beat, and has the natural instinct to step up and take initiative when it's needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Previous retail or hospitality experience — you know how to read a room and make people feel welcome
Some supervisory experience is a strong asset — we want someone who's comfortable taking the lead
Reliable weekday availability — this is a full-time role and weekday coverage is essential
Weekend availability — some weekend shifts are part of the rotation and non-negotiable
Someone who understands the importance of and genuinely cares about the customer experience

PAY AND GROWTH
Starting at $20.00/hour with a tiered pay structure — as you grow into the role and take on more responsibility, your pay reflects it. We believe in rewarding people who show up and deliver.
