Wastewater Construction Ambassador (Project Coordinator)
Public Works – Water & Wastewater
Regular Full-Time
Salary Range: $76,054 - $95,068 per annum

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
The role:
As the Wastewater Construction Ambassador, you’ll be at the heart of our watermain and wastewater projects, ensuring a seamless experience for residents, businesses, and stakeholders. You’ll serve as the go-to contact on-site, bridging the gap between construction activities and community needs, while keeping operations running smoothly.
In this role you will:
- Act as the first point of contact and provide responsive and timely support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues from residents and businesses impacted by construction.
- Provide pre-construction review of the project area to highlight sensitive areas that will require additional support or special consideration during construction.

Collaborate with key project teams including Project Managers, Inspectors, Communications and Contractor to address complaints.
- Keep the community informed. Generate project notices, surveys, water interruptions and deliver (or arrange delivery of) to all properties throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Track and manage database of key contact information and all concerns raised during the life of the project.

Attend onsite coordination meetings (weekly, daily, specific incident, etc.) as requested by the Project Manager.

Ensure emergency services, transit, schools, Councillors, municipality are regularly informed of current construction phase, in a proactive manner.
- Liaise with Project Managers and Inspectors to ensure traffic flow is maintained, traffic control setup adheres to traffic control plans and that project signage is installed as required and monitored throughout construction to ensure placement and message is appropriate and up to date.

Coordinate with law enforcement to arrange for paid duty police as directed by Project Managers to support safe operations and manage any traffic or security needs on site.
What the role requires:

Successful completion of a degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, certified engineering Technology diploma or related field.

3-5 years on site construction experience or equivalent combination if education and experience.

Experience working in a municipal construction environment and understanding of construction practices.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and public relation skills.

Effective team player.

Valid Driver’s licence with access to reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of construction law certification and / or formal training an asset.

Construction safety training in confined space, WSIB, fall protection, traffic control, first aid and CPR qualified.

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
