ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure exterior and interior property access points are secure, including doors, windows
- Ensure guest vehicles and parking area are secure and lighting operational
- Monitor surveillance cameras
- Perimeter and Interior patrols
- Provide notification to appropriate company and local authorities in cases of emergency
- Observe and report suspicious behavior
- Observe and report damage to building or equipment to Maintenance department
- Remove loiterers
- Ensure night staff at motel and hotel are safe using check-in protocols
- Provide escort as required, assist in emergency evacuations of guests and staff
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Complete daily shift report
- Report to work on time and properly uniformed
- Follow Company Personnel and Communications Policies, Procedures and Protocols
- Cooperate, coordinate, and collaborate with department colleagues
- Attentive to potential workplace hazards and initiate remedial action
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- ALGC Protect Security certification
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ‘must haves”
- Alert, observant
- Ability to respond to emergencies and contact appropriate authorities as required
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Use of mobile communication devices and fire suppression equipment
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License – Abstract Required
- Able to work with little supervision
- Able to remain calm under pressure and diffuse potential conflict.

- Demonstrates honesty, flexibility, reliability, and dependability
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
· Minimum age 18 years
The ‘nice to haves”:
- Security Training Certification
- Basic First Aid and CPR
- Previous security experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Evening shift work including weekends and holidays
- Patrols inside and outside during all seasons
- Work for a well established and respected property in the Lakeland Region
- Multi-cultural staff and patrons
- Uniform, flashlight, and walkie talkie provided
- Company work vehicle as required
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
