About Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB)
For over 40 years, Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB) has been transforming lives by providing expertly trained Guide Dogs and Autism Service Dogs to Canadians from coast to coast. As a nationally recognized charitable organization, we are expanding our reach, growing our programs, and strengthening our communications presence.
We are seeking a creative, strategic, and highly organized Graphic Designer & Social Media Strategist who is equally comfortable developing compelling visual content as they are supporting administrative operations. This role blends creativity with coordination and is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment. CGDB is located in Manotick and this position is on-site full-time.
About the Role
This position is responsible for elevating CGDB’s brand presence across digital and print platforms while also providing administrative support to the Director of Canine Affairs and leadership team. The successful candidate will combine storytelling, design excellence, social media strategy, and strong organizational skills to help advance our national impact.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Brand Management
- Design print and digital materials including brochures, annual reports, donor materials, event collateral, and campaign assets
- Maintain and evolve CGDB’s visual identity across all platforms
- Create compelling visuals that reflect our mission and professionalism
- Coordinate photography and video assets, including capturing content on-site when required
Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
- Develop and execute CGDB’s social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Create engaging, mission-driven content including graphics, reels, stories, and campaigns
- Monitor analytics and adjust strategy to increase reach, engagement, and donor conversion
- Manage content calendars and coordinate posts aligned with fundraising and program milestones
- Engage professionally with our online community
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Canine Affairs
- Assist with scheduling, document preparation, and internal communications
- Support donor communications and volunteer correspondence
- Maintain organized digital filing systems and marketing archives
- Assist with event planning logistics and materials preparation
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in graphic design, customer service and social media management
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, analytics, and digital engagement strategies
- Excellent written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong administrative capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience in the non-profit sector is considered an asset
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
