BMO’s Corporate Communications team is responsible for communicating to all stakeholders – both inside and outside BMO in a way that drives engagement, brand advocacy and sustainable performance.

BMO is looking for a Digital Media Coordinator with strong writing and exceptional photography and digital design skills.

Working as a photojournalist for the bank, the coordinator will act as a visual storyteller, capturing the company narrative, brand and culture in words and images that resonate with multiple stakeholders across a variety of channels.

Responsibilities will include:
Researches, develops themes and stories, and content ideas, including producing and publishing photos and video posts for multimedia formats.

Uses advanced-level photography and video to independently conceive and create exceptional visual stories for online, presentation, and social media platforms.

Produces video and still photography that elevates BMO’s Intranet site, social media, executive presentations, and enhances brand awareness and employee engagement.

Provides expertise and works collaboratively with Corporate and CEO Communications, Media and Social Team to strategize storytelling and fulfill multimedia requests from executives across the bank.

Independently manages multiple visual storytelling assignments from concept to completion.

Utilizes advanced technical and lighting skills, as well as extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, to elevate photography and videography during pre- and post-production.

Engages photo/video subjects using exceptional interpersonal skills, and provides artistic direction as needed on location.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge and skills:
Knowledge – This position requires a coordinator with a bachelor`s degree or diploma in journalism, public relations, visual communications or related field and 1-3 years of experience in corporate communications and/or Marketing and Advertising. Experience in the financial industry is highly desirable. Sound knowledge of marketing, advertising, promotions, digital, design and brand management. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), MSOffice Suite. Solid understanding of the print and production process.

Core Skills –This position requires excellent writing, editing, graphic design and project management skills. It requires an individual with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills who can consult, influence and collaborate with different colleagues across levels and business groups. A key competency in this role is the ability to take complex information and communicate it in clear ways. Demonstrated ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-functional team is imperative.

Additional Skills –This role requires the individual to understand and use a variety of content management and design tools to post and manage content and information. Print and on-line design expertise is a definite asset.
