Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Planning and Reporting, the purpose of this job is to oversee all aspects of external financial reporting including the annual consolidated financial statements, quarterly forecasting, the annual charity return and all financial reporting mandated by Alberta Education.
This job is responsible for planning, analyzing and accurately presenting information and reports required for the monitoring and reporting of actual and forecasted results as compared to budgeted amounts; ensuring that CBE financial statements and note disclosure comply with Public Sector Accounting Standards and legislative requirements; and identifying and applying new changes to accounting and reporting pronouncements to ensure that CBE is properly positioned to comply and that the impacts of such changes are known and communicated. This job is also responsible for the direct supervision of financial reporting staff as well as directing and coordinating the work of staff across the finance department.
