Veterinary Assistant

We offer a wide range of services. Our Veterinary Assistants are actively involved in caring for our small animal patients, including several rescues; assisting the Veterinarians during office appointments; assisting the technicians with treatments and diagnostics; administrative duties (including reception); hospital upkeep; and client education. Our clinic offers specialty services including referral surgeries, endoscopy, laparoscopy and ultrasonography.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service & care in a friendly professional manner
- Assist Veterinarians and RVTs with appointment intakes and flow, review treatment plans and estimates, assist with client needs during appointments
- Provide Veterinarians and Technicians with patient restraint for a variety of procedures, prescription refills, preparation of laboratory samples, radiographs, and administration of treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Administrative duties such as answering phones, emails, scheduling appointments, and responding to client needs in a timely manner
- Invoicing and processing payments for clients for services rendered, medications and food orders
- Maintain and update client records in our practice management software
- Routine call backs and patient monitoring of progress at home
- Inventory receiving and unpacking orders
- Assist with patient care and/or cleaning, as needed
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness at all times
Education:
Secondary School (preferred)
Avimark or other medical record training (Preferred)
Experience:
Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Veterinary hospital: 1 year (preferred)
