The RAN New Service Introduction team is a group of highly motivated engineers who have a passion for implementing the new network software and features needed to support our customers increasing demand for wireless service. Our team is responsible for planning, trials and roll-out of new LTE and 5G software releases as well as new features in TELUS’ wireless network. We oversee a broad range of planning and engineering activities that provide TELUS customers with the most reliable network and the best user experience across Canada.

As the leader of the RAN new service introduction team, you’ll provide technical and people leadership to prioritize and deploy the network features and technology that will give the highest return to TELUS and to our customers. You will leverage your deep technical knowledge of LTE and 5G technologies with your intra-preneurial spirit to take calculated risks and drive the continued transformation of the RAN new service introduction team through the use of automation and data science.

Your ability to lead, your competitive spirit, your passion for innovation, and your strong RF engineering background will allow us to find the best ways of building our wireless network to support existing mobility services and offer new services. Finally, together as a team, we will help shape the future vision of TELUS’ wireless network by providing important guidance to executives on how to best address our evolving business challenges. Here's how
Provide leadership and support to the RAN new service introduction team so they can continue to build on their technical and automation capabilities
Ensure strong team engagement and enhance a sense of close connection regardless of geography
Facilitate ongoing learning and development in the latest wireless network technologies and best practices
Provide ongoing informal and formal coaching and face-to-face meetings
Act as an ambassador and point of contact for TELUS wireless service(s) and confidently influence technology development with network vendors
Cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships with other leaders, including Technology Development, Device and Network Performance teams to understand new technologies and services to prepare your team for success in an evolving and competitive business environment
Challenge, inspire, and motivate team members towards continued improvements, skills development and technical innovations by leveraging automation and data science techniques
Continue to push the status quo: integrate, implement and improve on current network tools/technologies
Lead your team in developing new dashboards and data visualizations with the goal of providing insight(s) into network new services deployment which will then be shared with management and peer groups

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Great-to-haves
MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
5 years of experience in a RAN Capacity/Optimization/Performance Engineering team
2 years of experience with active participation in complex project strategy and execution
Clearly demonstrate the individual ability to work in a multi-team environment
