Foreman – Experienced Water & Sewer Job Description:
This is a senior level position offering a competitive compensation plan and complete benefits package.
- Must have experience in water & sewer repairs (preferred over new water & sewer experience).
- Extensive knowledge Halifax Water specifications with regards to sewer and water.
- Knowledge of HRM specifications in road construction and more specifically, municipal water and sewage.
- Understand and be capable of operating any equipment on the job site.
- Extensive knowledge of the materials and equipment required for this type of construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Have strong work ethic, good communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work as a team.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to deal directly with the Project Manager as to equipment needs, job procedures, manpower needs, job scope changes, or any issues that arise on the job site.
- Coordinates construction activities for the project to client specifications, while also ensuring execution is conducted in an efficient, safe, healthy and environmentally responsible manner.
- Oversees the execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawings.
- Strength in identifying needs and deficiencies in looking ahead at the plan/schedule and communicating these to the appropriate persons.
- Understands project scheduling and cost control.
- Leading a crew to maximize productivity and ensure quality workmanship.
- Maintains communication with customers and other personnel on site such as subcontractors and traffic control.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, plans and specifications.
- Plan ahead to ensure materials arrive onsite in a timely manner and all invoices have correct PO's.
- Must be able to manage & organize paperwork.
- Track employee hours for submission to Payroll.
Experience:
- 3 years experience including repairs to existing lines (preferred)
- Salary commensurate with experience
Licences:
- Candidate must have a valid driver's licence with clean abstract.
- Current safety certificates (Asset)
