Position Overview
The Project Manager will manage and direct Excavation projects to support the services and operations of project. Responsibilities will include: managing processes, personnel and resources to provide services based on the contract for multiple projects, products and/or deliverables that are on-time; on-budget and that meet customer expectations. The Project Manager must possess the knowledge, experience and ability to work with new and/or developed customers to determine business and operational needs and to develop value-added opportunities for customers and expanded business opportunities for York.

Key Functions Duties:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Reviews project proposals and plans to gain an understanding of the project requirements (budget, safety, quality, materials and equipment) necessary to complete the project within the required time frame.
Reviews estimates and contracts; negotiates revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Interprets contracts and ensured compliance with contract terms and the requirements of the scope of work.
Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety, environment, and quality control.
Interfaces with project team, client representative, architect representative and subcontractors.
Mentors, coaches, supervises and assessed performance of direct reports and other team members.
Leads/assists in negotiation of claims/disputes with the owner and sub trades.
Lead the planning and implementation of customer projects and initiatives
Provide development and oversight of project scope, goals, scheduling, budgets, risk management and resource management
Develop project plans, time lines, material coordination, job sequencing and labor requirements
Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations and identify expanded business opportunities
Manage and supervise project team members through effective planning, coordination and supervision
Provide management and fiscal reporting and updates as required
Identify potential problems and provide effective solutions and problem-resolution
Maintain quality and safety standards without exception
Perform related work as required

EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Engineering or Construction Management discipline required or an equivalent combination of education and experience or related designation
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in Civil, Industrial, Energy, Aggregate or related industry preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess the knowledge, experience and ability to make sound business decisions that result in value to the customer and growth for the company
Proficient in organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure and to meet budget and project deadlines
Possess computer skills that include Microsoft Office programs to include Excel and Word
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent York in a professional, competent and courteous manner
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs
Preference will be granted to candidates with prior experience in Civil and/or Excavation Services management, estimating and new business development
