SupremeX Detailing, an XPEL Ontario leadership award-winning facility in Ottawa, is seeking a skilled Vinyl Wrap Installer to join our premier automotive customization team. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in vehicle wrapping, detailing, or dealership environments. In this role, you will utilize precision tools and premium materials to transform vehicles into customized works of art, upholding our strict reputation for flawless craftsmanship and absolute customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Execute multi-stage vehicle preparation (decontamination washes, clay bar treatments, and chemical stripping) to guarantee flawless vinyl adhesion.
- Precision Installation: Accurately measure, plot, cut, and apply vinyl wraps to complex vehicle contours, body panels, and deep recesses.
- Advanced Manipulation: Expertly utilize heat guns, squeegees, and specialized knifeless tape to conform vinyl smoothly around edges, ensuring bubble-free, seamless finishes.
- Disassembly & Reassembly: Safely remove and reinstall minor vehicle components (badges, door handles, trim, light fixtures) to achieve clean, tucked edges.
- Quality Control & Repairs: Inspect finished wraps for imperfections, perform seamless post-heating, and execute precision corrections or adjustments as required.
- Shop Stewardship: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while assisting with high-end detailing or film preparation workflows when necessary.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven Track Record: Prior experience in vinyl wrap installation, paint protection film (PPF), window tinting, or automotive customization.
- Technical Skill Set: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and absolute proficiency with installer tools (precision knives, specialized squeegees, scrapers, and heat sources).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle body panels, disassembly procedures, and hardware manipulation.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including extended periods on your feet, steady hand control, and safely lifting body panels or heavy material rolls.
- Detail-Oriented Mindset: A sharp eye for alignment, color matching, and edge uniformity, driven by a strong work ethic.
