Position: Independent Contractor Swim Instructor

We are looking for an experienced instructor to join our team and teach high-quality swimming lessons to kids and adults!
Pay: $30-35/hour
Expected hours:
Aug, Sept,Oct, Nov,Dec 2026
- Tues 4pm -9pm
- Wed 7pm-9pm
- Thurs 7pm-9pm
* Please note that the shifts are offered year-round, so if you would like to keep these hours into 2027 we would consider that greatly!
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective instruction under the Lifesaving Society “Swim for Life” program with a few “Coastal Waves” twists
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the needs of each student
- Teach proper swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, and floating
- Facilitate a fun and safe learning environment for students.
- Build rapport with students and their families, fostering a love for swimming that lasts a lifetime.
- Maintain accurate records of the students’ progress to write detailed progress cards at the end of the swim term.
- Asset: Able to teach beginner group adult lessons
Requirements:
- +5 years experience as a swim instructor preferred
- Lifesaving Society Certified with a passion for teaching all ages and abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (optional).
- Available on Tues 4-9pm, Wed + Thurs 7pm-9pm
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
