The Opportunity
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaning Associate to help keep our veterinary clinic clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, clients, and staff. This part-time role is a good fit for someone who is committed to consistent, thorough cleaning and is comfortable working in an animal-care environment.
What You Will Do
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, including toilets, sinks, faucets, mirrors, fixtures, floors, and other washroom surfaces.
- Refill or report low bathroom supplies as needed.
- Clean and disinfect treatment-area surfaces, including shelves, drawers, cupboards, wall guards, and assigned equipment or furnishings.
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop assigned areas using clinic-approved products, equipment, and methods.
- Clean visible dust and dirt from lamps, vents, window areas, door frames, baseboards, and other assigned surfaces.
- Clean glass doors and interior glass surfaces, including the front entrance door, where weather conditions permit.
- Dust and clean reception fixtures, plexiglass barriers, signs, baseboard frames, and other assigned client-facing surfaces.
- Maintain a clean and presentable entrance and reception area.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, floors, and surrounding surfaces according to clinic cleaning and disinfection protocols.
- Clean the staff kitchen and break area, including counters, sinks, tables, appliance surfaces, and floors.
- Check the refrigerator and freezer for spoiled items or defrosting concerns and report issues according to clinic procedure.
- Move light portable items as needed to clean underneath, where safe and appropriate.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste according to clinic procedures.
- Follow clinic direction regarding biohazard, sharps, confidential, or restricted waste.
- Use clinic-approved disinfectants, personal protective equipment, and cleaning methods.
- Follow clinic safety rules, WHMIS requirements, and infection-prevention procedures.
- Report hazards, damaged items, supply shortages, or unsafe conditions promptly.
What We Are Looking For
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning protocols consistently.
- Comfort working in a veterinary clinic environment where animals may be present.
- Ability to use cleaning products and personal protective equipment safely.
- Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, reaching, and moving light portable items as required.
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset, but training can be provided.
What We Offer
- Part-time schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:25 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.
- Wage of $20.00 per hour.
