Position Summary
The Part-Time Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment throughout the facility. This role supports daily operations through consistent cleaning, general upkeep, customer service, and occasional assistance with food and beverage service in the cantina. This position is primarily evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of all areas including fitness spaces, courts, washrooms, and common areas
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as equipment, door handles, and counters
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and remove garbage and recycling
- Restock cleaning and facility supplies as needed
- Follow established health and safety cleaning standards
Facility Support
- Assist with setup and takedown of equipment for programs, rentals, and events
- Keep all spaces organized and presentable
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment
Customer Service
- Greet and assist members and guests in a professional manner
- Answer general questions and help maintain a welcoming environment
- Enforce facility policies and rules as required
Cantina Support (Food & Beverage)
- Assist with preparation and service of food and beverages
- Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cantina area
- Follow food safety and handling guidelines
- Serve alcohol in accordance with ProServe Certification requirements
Safety & Monitoring
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Respond to incidents or concerns following facility procedures
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must obtain ProServe Certification (can be completed after hire)
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, or customer service experience is an asset
- Experience in food and beverage service is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliable and able to work evenings and weekends
Working Conditions
- Evenings and weekends required based on programming
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs
- Able to stand, walk, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods
- Comfortable working in an active environment
