As our operations continue to scale, we are looking for a detail-oriented, sharp, and proactive Accounts Officer to join our finance team on-site at our Mississauga facility.
Position Overview
The Accounts Officer will play a pivotal role in managing our day-to-day financial operations. You will drive our full-cycle accounting processes—from ensuring vendor bills and HST are meticulously recorded to preparing monthly management reports and handling biweekly payroll. Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Bill Recording: High-volume processing and recording of vendor invoices using QuickBooks, ensuring proper GL coding and accurate tracking of HST.
- Banking & Payments: Prepare and upload payment files (EFT/Wire) directly into the banking platform for management approval, ensuring smooth synchronization with our accounting records.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage intercompany reconciliations across our entities to ensure seamless balance matching.
- Payroll Administration: Process end-to-end biweekly payroll, managing timesheets, hourly/salaried deductions, and compliance.
- Financial & Management Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and generate tailored management reports using QuickBooks and Labeltraxx data to support executive decision-making.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact during year-end audits, preparing working papers and gathering required documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in a full-cycle accounting or senior bookkeeping role. Experience in a manufacturing or packaging sector is a significant asset.
- Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is required. Familiarity or direct experience with Labeltraxx (or similar print/packaging ERP systems) is highly preferred.
- Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of Canadian tax regulations, specifically HST tracking and filing rules.
- Technical Savvy: Strong proficiency in MS Excel for managing complex intercompany reconciliations and data.
- Location & Availability: Ability to work full-time, in-person at our Mississauga office.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with management, operations, and external auditors.
