Whitmore Park Child Care Co-op is dedicated to creating early childhood programming that is holistic, responsive, and developmentally appropriate, building on children's strengths, accomplishments, and abilities. We strive to provide children with ample opportunities to learn and develop through discovery and open-ended exploration. Working as a team with co-workers and families is essential to creating collaborative partnerships that meet the individual needs of each child.
WPCCC's nutritionist is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for 40 children aged 18 months to 6 years at the center. AM & PM Snacks, and a lunch. Shifts are 8:00am to 12:30pm Monday to Friday, with a half-hour unpaid lunch. Vision, health, and dental benefits after 3 months probation.. ECE certification an asset but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of nutritious foods prepared according to Health Regulations and Canadas Food Guide in consultation with the Executive Director.
Adapt recipes to suite varying ages, cultures, and allergy/diet restrictions of individual children and families. Ensuring that all preparation is peanut free.
Follow health and safety practice to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Must have Safe Food Handling Certification and willing to obtain current criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening with a month of hiring. ECE experience, WHIMIS, and First Aid with CPR an asset, but not required.
