Setting: Private Residence
Schedule: 3 hours daily – either 9:30 AM–12:30 PM or 4:00 PM–7:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical oversight and support for a client receiving care in their private residence.
The client is wheelchair dependent, has complex care needs, and currently has an established care team in place. This position is not intended to replace the client's existing day-to-day caregivers. Rather, the RN will serve in a senior clinical oversight capacity, helping ensure the client's care remains safe, coordinated, proactive, and responsive to any changes in their condition.
The ideal candidate will have significant acute-care experience, preferably in Emergency, Intensive Care (ICU), Neurology, or another complex-care environment, with demonstrated experience caring for patients with neurological disorders, mobility limitations, or medically complex conditions.
Schedule
This position requires 3 hours of nursing support per day, with flexibility for one of the following daily shifts:
- 9:30 AM–12:30 PM, or
- 4:00 PM–7:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing clinical assessment and oversight of the client's overall health and care needs.
- Monitor for changes in condition and identify potential concerns requiring intervention or escalation.
- Review and help coordinate the client's existing care plan to ensure it remains appropriate and responsive to their needs.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to the client's existing caregivers and home-care team.
- Act as a clinical liaison between the client, family, caregivers, physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals as required.
- Support medication management and review within the RN's scope of practice.
- Monitor neurological status, mobility-related concerns, skin integrity, pain, nutrition, hydration, and other relevant clinical indicators.
- Assist with the management and coordination of complex medical needs, appointments, treatments, and changes in care.
- Recognize early signs of deterioration and determine when additional medical assessment or emergency intervention may be required.
- Maintain clear and accurate clinical documentation and communicate meaningful changes to the family and appropriate healthcare providers.
- Provide education and guidance to the family and care team regarding the client's health, safety, and evolving care requirements.
- Advocate for the client's comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Current registration and good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the applicable province.
- Several years of progressive nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in Emergency, ICU, Neurology, complex care, or a comparable acute-care setting.
- Experience working with patients with neurological conditions, significant mobility limitations, or other complex medical needs.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize subtle changes in a patient's condition and respond appropriately.
- Experience coordinating care across multiple healthcare providers and disciplines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with family members and an established care team.
- Comfortable working independently in a private home environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and all other required credentials.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a senior, confident, and highly capable RN who can bring strong acute-care clinical judgment into the home environment. They should be comfortable taking a leadership and oversight role in the client's care while working collaboratively with an established caregiving team.
This position would be particularly well suited to an RN with an Emergency, ICU, or Neurology background who is looking to apply their clinical expertise in a personalized one-on-one care environment.
The RN should be compassionate, proactive, dependable, and committed to ensuring the client receives exceptionally well-coordinated and clinically appropriate care in their home.
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week
