We are looking for a passionate buyer. The incumbent purchases and obtains quotes for components, materials and equipment at the best cost, taking into account quality criteria, reliability of sources and delivery requirements. The person analyzes the quotes received, chooses the suppliers with whom the orders will be placed and schedules the deliveries. He/she develops a database of suppliers that meets the highest performance requirements in addition to researching hardware for which there is no known source. He/she questions the sales representatives, if necessary. The incumbent authorizes transportation fees, processes purchase orders, change orders, and returns authorizations. He/She facilitates the exchange of technical information with the supplier base in addition to compiling all sources of information, enters and maintain data in ERP and/or AMMS systems. The person creates and maintains reports for inventory control and supplier-based metrics.
Responsibilities:
The Buyer is responsible to prioritizes day-to-day activities.. Specific responsibilities include:
Analyses quotations
negotiates prices for -long term agreements
Assists Supply Chain Manager in negotiating long-term agreements for multi-site requirements
Provides quarterly forecasts to suppliers
Manages incoming raw material and E.O. inventory
Occasionally require to attend meeting with commodity team May also be requested to participate in commodity teams.
Assists Supply Chain Manager in leveraging cross-site spending by commodity
Participates in improvement projects with support from colleagues
Provides guidance to engineering staff in determining component and tooling selection and suggests substitutions
Drives inventory management initiatives
Participates actively in improvement projects involving internal and external resources
Trains, assists and guides other buyers
Qualifications:
College diploma in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
Requires at least one PMAC course or equivalent.
Two years experience as a buyer.
Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP or other standard ERP.
Demonstrated interpersonal savvy with proven ability to build effective relationships with external customers and internal colleagues across all levels of the organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to deliver clear, timely, and targeted messages.
Prioritize time efficiently, meeting or exceeding commitments in an environment of change and multiple demands; continually seek way to improve individual/team efficiency.
Be able to develop an understanding of the Excelitas products and core processes.
Deliver consistently high-quality performance.
