We're looking for a reliable and hardworking sawmill worker to join our crew. You'll be working outdoors, operating equipment, handling lumber and serving our customers as part of a small, dedicated team.
The right person will be willing to do what it takes to keep the operation running efficiently, and keen to learn new skills as we expand our business. In just 5 years we've grown to become one of the largest sawmills in the area. With that growth comes blue sky opportunities for anyone who wants to be on our team for the long run.

About Us
Madrone Milling (madronemilling.ca) is an independent sawmill located in Metchosin (15 minutes from Sooke or Langford). We mill Vancouver Island grown cedar and fir for projects of all sizes. We produce dimensional lumber, posts and beams and finished lumber.
What You'll Do
- Operate sawmill machinery, chainsaws
- Handle, sort, stack, and move lumber
- Accurately count and organize orders for pickup and delivery
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Work collaboratively with the crew to meet production goals
What We're Looking For
- Some experience in sawmill operations, forestry, construction, or a related trades required
- Comfortable operating heavy or powered equipment
- Keen to take initiative to help improve our operations
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labor outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Valid driver's licence
- Experience running excavators, forklifts, cranes and large trucks/trailers are an asset
