Position Title: Senior Treasury Analyst
Team and Location: Treasury – Calgary, AB
Reporting to the Director, Treasury, the Senior Analyst, Treasury will be a key member of the treasury team, working with other members of the treasury group across the organization, as well as the corporate finance and Parkland’s business unit finance and operations teams. This position contributes to the treasury team’s success by completing detailed analyses of short and long term strategic forecasts to assist with resource planning and capitalization needs.
Ownership of the models, processes, and covenant reporting of syndicated borrowing facility. Review and validate all regular information flows to and from the lender.
Create, modify and/or review financial and economic models to support strategic decisions applying critical thinking, problem solving skills and data analysis. Contribute to improvements and automation of the models used by the treasury team
Monitor FX exposure and prepare short-term and long-term FX analysis. Define, develop, and implement hedging strategies. Transact FX deals with banks
Internal treasury reporting and analysis of external debt. Prepare analysis on debt maturity including alternatives to existing debt portfolio.
Conduct research and analysis on capital markets, identifying risks and opportunities that could impact Parkland’s capital structure including covenants scenario testing.
Support the preparation of presentations for senior leadership and ad-hoc strategic analysis for projects related to potential financing structures, hedging opportunities and other treasury transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
In depth understanding and exposure to capital markets
University degree in finance, accounting or related area
CPA and/or CFA preferred
5+ years of professional work experience in treasury, finance, and/or banking
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, and the ability to collaborate effectively and cohesively within a team
Extremely strong analytical skills including acute attention to detail
Strong sense of urgency and proven capability to work within short deadlines in a fast-paced environment
An effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
