We are currently looking to add two (2) reliable, professional, and mature Part-Time Sales Associates to our team to cover our weekend operations. If you thrive in a consultative retail environment and enjoy building meaningful connections with customers, we want to hear from you.
Available Shifts & Schedules:
Please specify in your application which position you are applying for. Both positions require working both Saturday and Sunday.
- Position 1 (The Closing Specialist): 2 shifts per week. Saturday and Sunday Closing shifts.
- Position 2 (The Open/Mid-Shift Specialist): 2 shifts per week. Sunday Opening shift, paired with either an Opening or Mid-shift on Saturday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize the Customer Experience: Provide a welcoming, zero-pressure atmosphere. Ensure customer experience always comes first and every guest leaves with the right product for their needs.
- Engage in Consultative Dialogue: Comfortably guide customers through long, unhurried, and nuanced conversations regarding product profiles, potencies, ingestion methods, and safe consumption.
- Independent Store Operations: Confidently manage store duties alone during designated floor hours, maintaining a high level of responsibility, security compliance, and self-motivation.
- Financial Accountability: Accurately handle cash and digital transactions using our Point of Sale (POS) system, demonstrating a strong comfort level with cash handling, numbers, and balanced drawers.
- Maintain Store Standards: Support inventory management, visual merchandising, and routine cleaning to keep our boutique space pristine and organized.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Advanced, native-level English fluency (verbal and written) is required. Because this role relies heavily on navigating complex, technical, and detailed product discussions, superb communication is a non-negotiable requirement. (Proficiency in other languages is not required for this role).
- Valid Selling It Right Certification: Must possess a valid BC Selling It Right certificate prior to your first day of work.
- Age Requirement: Must be 19 years of age or older to comply with provincial cannabis retail regulations. We are seeking mature, responsible individuals capable of independent key-holder duties.
- Composure Under Pressure: Proven ability to remain calm, professional, and highly efficient during peak weekend rush hours or complex customer inquiries.
- Cannabis Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of cannabis products (flower, concentrates, edibles, beverages, etc.) is preferred, though a genuine willingness to learn and keep up with industry trends is highly valued.
- Proximity/Commute: Ideally located within a 30-minute commute of our Kerrisdale location (conveniently accessible via transit routes from UBC and surrounding areas).
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
