Position Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and service-driven Bartender to join our team at The Lakeside Lounge. In this role, you’ll be the heart of the bar—crafting high-quality cocktails, engaging with guests, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience from first pour to last call. You’ll work in a fast-paced, elevated lounge environment that blends luxury with approachability, delivering service that is warm, knowledgeable, and professional.
Key Responsibilities
Cocktail Execution & Beverage Standards
- Prepare and serve a wide range of cocktails and beverages with speed, precision, and consistency.
- Follow house cocktail specs and contribute to seasonal updates and menu development.
- Maintain a well-stocked and organized bar including daily prep, garnishes, and mise en place.
- Practice proper pouring, presentation, and consistency across all drinks.
- Wash and sanitize glassware and bar tools throughout the shift.
Guest Experience & Service
- Deliver outstanding, personalized service to every guest seated at the bar.
- Create a welcoming, energetic, and engaging bar atmosphere.
- Educate guests on cocktails, spirits, and pairings with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Serve food to bar guests in a timely and polished manner.
- Respond to guest feedback and complaints with professionalism and urgency.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with the lounge and service teams to fulfill drink orders efficiently and accurately.
- Support lounge floor operations during peak periods or events as directed.
- Communicate effectively with BOH and FOH regarding service timing and special requests.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow Serving It Right standards and verify guest ID when necessary.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service at all times.
- Comply with all safety and hygiene protocols including Food Safe and workplace cleanliness.
Requirements
- 1+ year of bartending experience in a fast-paced or high-end setting.
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails and bar tools.
- Serving It Right certification required.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in British Columbia.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Position Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Cocktail Quality & Consistency: Drinks executed to spec with correct presentation and timing.
- Guest Engagement: Positive feedback from guests and observable rapport at the bar.
- Check Average Growth: Upselling and pairing recommendations that enhance guest experience.
- Cleanliness & Safety Compliance: Workstation maintained to FoodSafe and Serving It Right standards.
- Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork with the floor and kitchen teams.
