The Brucejack Mine is a high-grade gold underground mine located in northwestern British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometers north of Stewart. In 2018, Pretivm has received amended permits to increase production by 40% to 3,800 tpd.

An updated Mineral Reserve and Resource Estimate outlines Proven and Probable Reserves in Brucejack’s Valley of the Kings of 6.4 million ounces of gold (16 million tonnes grading 12.6 grams per tonne).

At $1,300 gold, Brucejack now has an estimated after-tax net present value at a 5% discount rate of $2.59 billion over a 14-year mine life.

About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Shop Labourer to join the Brucejack Mine in Northwestern, British Columbia.

Located approximately 65 kilometers from Stewart, you will report to the Heavy Duty Mechanic, or designate, and work a rotating schedule encompassing 13 days on, 13 days off.

In this role, you will support and assist in daily Maintenance operations, servicing and repairs. This includes shop and yard housekeeping and organizing duties. Daily operations include housekeeping, parts storage, parts inventory and assisting all Maintenance personnel when directed and if required. This position requires you to be physically fit for working and it may require lifting (50 lbs maximum) and continuous physical exertion at times. You must be prepared to work outside in alpine mountainous location and conditions. The position also ensures compliance with all Pretium Resources Inc.'s "Pretivm" Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities will include:
Cleaning the shop area and yard
Moving tools, and products to correct shop locations
Assisting mechanics and welders when required
Ensuring that the Health, Safety and Environmental standards of the company are met or exceeded
Possess strong safety orientation and diligent in pro-active identification and resolution of hazards and safety issues
Actively participating in hazard identification, equipment inspection and properly completing the required safety documentation
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Assisting with the crew van driving when required
Performing snow clearing duties when required
Performing other related duties as required
As the successful candidate, you will have completion of Grade 12, or GED and a clean Class 5 driver’s license.

You will also possess:

Knowledge of industry specific to construction and vehicles and equipment

The ability to work 12 hour shifts
The ability to follow all safe work practices

Certification in workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS)
TDG – transportation of dangerous goods
Mechanical aptitude
The ability to work at remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical screening
The ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
The ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12 hour shifts
The ability to work in areas of extreme weather conditions
The ability to work in close quarters with the team
