Complex Care and Recovery Program

Position Description
The Complex Care and Recovery Program is seeking a part-time, contract (6 months) Research Assistant 1 to assist with ongoing research protocols. Reporting to the Medical Head, Ambulatory Services, Complex Care and Recovery Program your duties will include administrative activities, assistance with coordination, and data collection. As part of a research team, these activities may include liaising with clinical and research staff, data entry, recruiting participants, assisting with questionnaires, audit clinical record forms, work with databases and regulatory documents ensuring that accuracy and data quality is maintained and securely stored. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West but some travel to other community clinics and sites will be required.

The successful candidate must possess a secondary school education and/or special courses. Knowledge and proficiency in internet search engines, PC software skills, including Microsoft Office are required. Previous experience with working in a hospital research setting, interacting with scientists and research participants with a diagnosis of schizophrenia is an asset. Previous experience with data collection, data checking and data entry, assistance with organizing and maintaining research files, and experience with administering research questionnaires is an asset. You will have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; and function well within a cooperative, collaborative working environment. You have the ability for self-directed learning/working; while assisting concurrently on several projects. Candidates are expected to be detail oriented, well-organized, and possess a technical aptitude. You will provide candidates must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (English/French) and/or proficiency in another language is considered an asset.

Please Note: This part-time, contract (6 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit

Salary Range: $20.45 - $25.21 per hour
