Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman/woman to join our maintenance team. This role involves performing a variety of repair, maintenance, and facility management tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing or commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities when needed. Experience in manufacturing environments, facilities maintenance, and customer service is highly valued. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues
- Operate and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Use welding skills for metal repairs and fabrication tasks
- Manage programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for equipment troubleshooting and adjustments
- Maintain accurate records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Coordinate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet operational deadlines
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related concerns promptly
- Lead or assist in training new team members or apprentices as needed
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing environments, or related fields
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Skilled in welding, electrical work, and mechanical repairs
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and CMMS software
- Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including troubleshooting and repair procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination
- Prior experience in leadership roles within maintenance or facilities management is advantageous
