We are an independent restaurant located within a retirement community, looking for a Chef/Kitchen Manager who wants to lead a kitchen, take pride in their work, and enjoy an exceptional work-life balance.
This isn't a fine dining kitchen with complicated menus or 14-hour days. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to prepare fresh, comforting meals that our residents genuinely appreciate while running an organized, well-managed kitchen.
What you'll love about this position
- Consistent full-time daytime hours, Monday to Friday (approximately 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Your responsibilities
- Lead all daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and serve fresh, consistent, high-quality meals
- Create daily specials and features
- Manage inventory and ordering
- Control food costs and reduce waste
- Ensure excellent food safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Lead and support one kitchen employee while coordinating volunteers
- Maintain high standards for every plate leaving the kitchen
We're looking for someone who
- Has previous experience as a chef or kitchen manager
- Can confidently run a kitchen with minimal supervision
- Understands food costing, inventory, and efficient kitchen operations
- Leads by example and treats coworkers with respect
- Is dependable, organized, and takes pride in doing things right
- Wants to build a kitchen culture based on teamwork, consistency, and quality

We serve a wonderful community of residents along with takeout and delivery customers. While our menu focuses on familiar favourites rather than fine dining, we believe every meal should be prepared with care, consistency, and attention to detail.
