ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Utility is a member of the Environmental services team whose role is to maintain a clean, safe and functional environment within assigned areas throughout York Care Centre.
This includes performing building maintenance and minor repairs; e.g. painting, drywall finishing, assembling equipment, etc. The incumbent will be required to operate all equipment utilized within the Environmental Services Department and perform preventative maintenance checks and refer equipment / work requiring maintenance repair to appropriate sources. Perform ground maintenance, perform routine and scheduled floor maintenance and performing functions associated with waste management and the rearrangement / transfer of furniture / equipment are other responsibilities associated with the Maintenance Utility accountabilities. Additionally, they are responsible for functions associated with materials management; e.g. receiving, ordering, and stocking supplies, monitoring and documenting inventory etc. The Maintenance Utility also ensures all products / chemicals used in support of environmental services are properly labelled, properly prepared, replenished when necessary, and are kept in locked areas in accordance with departmental procedures.
ABOUT YOU
You have a good work record, pay close attention to detail and have obtained your high school diploma. You communicate in a clear and concise manner, can multi task, are physically able to perform the assigned duties, and have strong organizational skills. Rounding out your candidacy is your initiative, team work aptitude, flexibility and adaptability.
