Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our CNC milling machine to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure quality and efficiency in production. Experience with DMG MORI, specifically DMU 340 Gantry with hyperMILL CAD/CAM Software and Fanuc controls, and related machining tools is highly desirable. The CNC Mill Operator will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing processes, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining optimal machine performance.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machine equipment, following detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and troubleshoot issues related to Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as press brake machines and CNC equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accurate machining processes.
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality control standards are met.
- Conduct welding, assembly, and packaging tasks as needed within the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with warehouse activities such as forklift operation or overhead crane operation when required for material handling.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements based on observations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAD software (hyperMILL preferred), blueprint reading, and mechanical principles.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and hand tools used in machining operations.
- Ability to operate forklift equipment safely when necessary.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Experience with quality control procedures including the use of calipers and other precision measurement tools.
- Knowledge of welding, assembly processes, packaging procedures, and warehouse operations is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
