DESCRIPTION
The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will collaborate with in-house and outside counsel to manage litigation and provide comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Department. Success in this role requires strong professional, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all management levels. Maintaining confidentiality and projecting a professional image are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES-
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.

Draft and review legal pleadings, briefs, and written discovery for review and use by in-house and outside counsel. Compile and organize documents and information responsive to discovery requests.

Manage service of process and response calendaring for Michels family of companies.

Assist with day-to-day management of litigation matters and maintaining internal claims databases. Manage process for litigation holds.

Perform research on, implement, and maintain legal department policies and procedures.

Provide administrative support to the department: schedule meetings, process mail, assist with correspondence, make copies, maintain standard department materials, and manage distribution.

Assist department personnel in preparing, editing, and transmitting documents, correspondence, and presentations.

Develop, maintain, and revise process workflows associated with Digital Document Management and DocuSign. Perform administrative maintenance of the DocuSign system.

Work with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Risk, and DocuSign representatives, to analyze, develop and implement additions and changes to DocuSign functionality.

Act as internal resource for all company personnel regarding technical issues relating to use of DocuSign system. Work with external DocuSign technical personnel to resolve existing issues.

Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS-
3+ years of experience with litigation.

Intermediate knowledge of law.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Digital Document Management and DocuSign.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS-
Paralegal Diploma, Certificate or equivalent.

Construction industry experience an asset.
LANGUAGES-
Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
