Join Our On-Call Substitute Teaching Team!
FLCA is seeking passionate, flexible, and dedicated Substitute Teachers to support our students and staff on an on-call basis. We are looking for educators who can foster engaging classroom environments, adapt to a variety of grade levels and subject areas, and support student learning in a positive and collaborative school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
- Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, and school expectations provided by the teacher or administration
- Foster a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Support student learning and encourage active classroom participation
- Adapt to a variety of grade levels, subject areas, and classroom settings
- Maintain effective classroom management and student supervision throughout the school day
- Communicate professionally with staff and administration regarding student progress, behaviour, and any classroom concerns
- Support FLCA’s collaborative and student-centered learning environment
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or Authority to Teach in Alberta
- A recent (within the past 3 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required
- First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Flexible, dependable, and adaptable to changing classroom assignments
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience is considered an asset
